No. Every new account starts with a one-time grant of 400 credits: enough for about three stories of your own and plenty of reading. After that, choose a monthly plan, buy a pack, or both.
Plan credits, because they expire soonest: at the end of each calendar month (UTC), when the next month’s arrive. Credits from packs, the sign-up grant and promotions never expire and are used after them.
No. You pay for each story version and each branch version once. Re-reading it, its notifications and the summary of what changed are free. A followed story’s later versions are charged their read price once each, at the pace you choose.
Every paid action shows its price before it runs. The final charge is the measured cost of the work and never above the ‘at most’ you saw.
No. A task runs when you have credits for its estimate. When you run low, Amten says so calmly and never locks a story you have already paid for.
Card payments go through Stripe; Amten never sees your card. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are final and unused or expired credits are not refunded. The details are in the Terms of Use.
